Closing T2T! from Andrea Kuchinski | T2T on Vimeo.

    To our amazing girl gang,

This is probably the hardest email I’ve ever had to write in my life. Unfortunately, we are closing the doors of T2T. This decision didn’t come lightly as we’ve loved building this brand over the last 5 years, but financially, we cannot keep going.

This little revolution we started, trying to make a difference, trying to show the whole world that an athlete doesn’t look like a certain person, that #WEAREALLATHLETES has made a difference, I know it. I can see the change in media and in the world, and I know it’s because of amazing people like you showing the world that all of us deserve to be included. Words cannot even begin to thank you for trusting us to help with your individual missions of making a difference.

I will be the first to admit I’m just horrible at business. This started out as a hobby, then because of you all it turned into an amazing movement, but with that movement came responsibilities, and overhead and hitting sales targets, and from the beginning I’ve said the minute that I have to make sure I’m hitting “goals” this was going to be hard. I didn’t like selling, what I liked doing was having a place where ALL women were included, and they ALL felt like they were welcomed. Maybe for me, a for-profit business isn’t the right avenue, because I cannot push product, I mean I probably gave away more then we even sold! ha! That being said, it probably was a huge reason that we are emailing you today.

I was looking back at all the amazing things we’ve done and I just cried, because we have done so much and you’ve all been so amazing and supportive, and that’s something that will always live on. I’ve actually made a bunch of amazing friendships with women I’ve met through T2T, and I made myself healthy because of your motivation, but I’ve also had the darkest days as well, thinking that I’ve let you all down, and as a business owner, that’s the hardest part. But these are things that I will NEVVER EVER forget. We are going to keep the FB/IG pages up for motivation and just for a place for you all to interact if you want!

OK I know, stop talking what does this mean moving forward:
    2. We will email all people who have open orders immediately after this email to inform them that their orders are still being printed.
    3. People whom have gift cards will also be emailed to discuss their options, either purchasing or getting
    4. Over the next few weeks we will be posting random flash sales on IG with the last of the inventory we have, both designs and blanks, so TURN ON NOTIFICATIONS if you don’t want to miss those! (our IG is here)
    5. AUSTRALIA WILL STAY OPEN!!! So if you want to shop AU go ahead!
If there’s anything else that’s needed please feel free to reach out to me, I am always here to answer questions and again, thank you from the bottom of my heart.Love,

Your local radio station | I don’t know about you, but I listen to a lot of internet radio. I realized I’ve been missing out on a lot of local news and events. So turn off your favorite app or Sirius XM, and listen to a local radio station. You may be surprised what you learn!

Ninja Warrior | This woman is amazing!! Watch this bad ass video of her completing Stage One of the American Ninja Warrior competition. First girl ever to complete Stage One in its entirety.

PUMPKIN DRINKS | OK, so we are totally PSL obsessed here at T2T, but here are some alternatives to a Starbucks or DD run. Don’t get me wrong, I will still be in line once a week for the PSL…

  • Why WE believe #weareALLathletes

    T2T Collage

So, if you’re new to T2T you know that our motto has been #weareallathletes for the longest time… but what does that actually mean??? Well, duh, what it means is that we, women, of all shapes, sizes, abilities, in fact, ARE athletes.

Screen Shot 2016-05-31 at 8.49.42 PM

There it is, exactly what that says, an athlete is a person who is proficient in sports and other forms of physical exercise. So why, why do we not see athletes of all sizes in society?

The body positive movement is gaining momentum and we wanted to leave our mark. We wanted to show the world that we really truly are athletes. To me, what does an athlete even look like? Well, an athlete looks like YOU looks like ME looks like everyone… #ilooklikeanathlete is another huge hashtag that we are trying to show and push out there…

To me we need to show the world that we are working hard for a reason… We are working hard to live a long life, to be role models for our kids, to show people who not to underestimate…. We do it for a number of reasons so the next few months we are going to be showing the world that we are ALL ATHLETES by writing our reasons for being an athlete on cardboard and hoping that these reasons inspire someone, anyone, to be strong and show the world that THEY look like an athlete!

  • 3 years down, how many more to go?

DSC_0002Well, we have been anxiously planning what we are going to do for our 3rd birthday party, and in that, I sit here this morning thinking about the last 3 years… and last years party, and just T2T in general.

When you take the chances and start a business, everyone tells you, “well, you’ve got to make it past year 3 to know you’re successful”, and, they’re always asking, “hey, how long have you been around? oh, only 2 years, the worst is yet to come”! Well, to me, and I said this at the “Start Something That Matters” event that awesome super-star Morgan put on at Stevenson University a few weeks ago, but we didn’t have to wait 3 years to be successful, we just had to make a difference in ONE person’s life to be successful, and we did that. Monetarily, yes, year 3-5 is really where you are either going to sink or swim, but this has never been about money for me, it’s always been about making a difference, and that’s what I want you to remember and that’s what I want you to all know – I don’t want your money, I want your camaraderie! I want this amazing girl gang who is all about loving themselves and their bodies and loving what their bodies can do and loving the fact that we can all shop at the same store because no one is excluded!!!! That’s what I want – and a product that says just that.

So yes, we are approaching year 3, and we are successful, we aren’t going under, and most of all, I want to celebrate with my girl gang…. which is all of you!!!! So if you can, please join us for our THIRD BIRTHDAY PARTY, where we will JUMP, have drinks and apps, and have an over-all good time and we can celebrate that our girl gang is growing and we are showing this world that T2T is making moves and making a difference!!!!!

  • The Weekly Wrap Up | 05

Welcome to THE WEEKLY WRAP-UP, where we’ll be sharing a list of our favorite finds from around the Internet that we think you’ll enjoy too, which means yeah, it’s the perfect way to get your weekend started.

Hello by Adele | Nothing less than AH-MAZING ever comes from Adele and she delivers on that with the release of Hello. As Mic states, “Taking “Hello” as a song addressed to herself, these lines become about a woman looking to rediscover who she is after years of not knowing.” Just don’t listen to this at the gym unless you want to cry all the tears. Team T2T are HUGE Adele fans, so we cannot wait for this album release!

It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown | This is brought to you by pure nostalgia! There is something about curling up with your Snuggie watching fun movies from your childhood.

10 Things Every Person Should Know About Breast Cancer | Yahoo Health partnered with Bright Pink, an organization that aims to educate women on their breast and ovarian health, to share some must-know facts about breast cancer. Share it with your friends and family, and possibly save a life! We love Bright Pink and are proud sponsors of the Girls Gone RX Competition Series benefitting Bright Pink!

Holiday Cheer White Sangria | Typically, sangria is a drink synonymous with summer splendor. However, the addition of apple cider and cranberries turns this summer sip into a crisp Fall treat. Anything else you would add?

Primal Mayo | One word: omgthisissodeliciousiwanttoputmayooneverything. Ok, that MIGHT be more than one word, but trust that it is amazeballs. It has magic powers and can turn tuna or chicken salad into immediate awesomeness (some assembly required).

  • Guest Blog | Carin McCoy | Me Against Myself

I put off exercise for a long time. A looooooong time. I’m talking like when dinosaurs roamed. Then, Bam! 5 years ago, I had two beautiful kids and I decided I wanted to show them more of me. More of what I as their mum could achieve & hopefully show them the endless possibilities they had within themselves as well.

The main reason I’d never had a go was pretty superficial & even shallow. But, like most of us, ultimately ran much deeper.  I would rock up to the gym and scan the room. Was I the biggest? Was I the slowest? Was I lifting heavy enough? Was I running fast enough?  Man, in the end the only thing getting a workout was my overactive brain! When I stopped and thought about it, Me VS Me was and had always been my biggest fight.

photo-2Most of us compare. I guess, to an extent, it is human nature. If used positively, it can give us that little edge to push ourselves harder and really give it all we have got. The problem occurs when it stops you in your tracks and stops you from having go, from picking up that weight, running in that event & basically just living a life.  We are so hard on ourselves – our own worst critics. I’m not sure about you guys but when I’m sweating my guts out, grunting and, lets face it, at times swearing at my poor trainer…the last thing I am capable of doing is checking out what the guy next to me is lifting, what pace he is running (OK, OK! I lie a little…I may be checking out certain things at times…haha!) You get my drift though! The moment we all realise that ultimately it comes down to “ME AGAINST MYSELF,” the harder we will push, the fiercer we will train and the healthier we will all become.

Competing against the person next to you is not doing you any service. Really, when you think about the limited time you have to exercise, ain’t nobody got time for that! I’m focusing on using all that energy (which let’s face, it some days there isn’t much of it! 😉 ) to kick some ass when I’m working out – and hell, we need to be comfortable in ourselves when we do just that!

So how am I working on this? A training journal is helping me keep track of my own individual progress. It not only keeps me accountable, but it reminds me right there in print the progress I have made, my own individual goals and dreams. Note I said, ‘my own,’ not that of the other people at the gym.

Today I will shift the focus from what MY body looks like to what MY body can do.

  • Foodie Friday | Paleo Protein Pumpkin Pancakes

Welcome to another edition of Foodie Friday!

Since it has been approximately 91,000 degrees where I live, it’s hard to believe that Fall is around the corner. But sure enough, I was in my local craft store earlier this week and found myself surrounded by pumpkins, witches, and faux fall foliage. I will always agree that August is a little too early to begin putting out Halloween and Thanksgiving; however, there is one thing that I’m never sad to see – pumpkin flavored everything.

  • Foodie Friday | Black Bean Hummus

Happy Foodie Friday! It’s been a busy couple of weeks here, but there’s always time for food!!

As a 29-ish year old adult, I’ve hit that threshold where it is (generally) no longer socially acceptable to bring a 30 pack and a bag of Doritos to a party and have that count as “food.” I recently attended a get together where the hostess had asked everyone to bring an appetizer to share. Of course, my mind immediately flashed to images of ornate, hand crafted hors d’oeuvres from Pinterest that would be on par with a proper Martha Stewart inspired party (read: place cards and monogrammed favors).

Not having the time (or energy…let’s be honest. But time is a huge chunk, too. Like Sweet Brown said, “ain’t nobody got time for that!”) to risk something that could be used as the perfect #PinterestFail submission, I pulled this delicious nugget out from my recipe vault and voila! A healthy snack that was easy to make and easy to enjoy!

So here it is…Black Bean Hummus!

    • 1 clove garlic
    • 1 (15 ounce) can reduced sodium black beans; drained
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
    • 1 1/2 tablespoons tahini
    • 3/4 teaspoon ground cumin
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
    • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
    • 10 Greek olives (optional)

    1. Mince garlic in the bowl of a food processor (using pre-minced garlic also works well).
    2. Add black beans, olive oil, lemon juice, tahini, salt, 1/2 teaspoon cumin, and 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper. Process until smooth, scraping sides as needed.
    3. Add additional seasonings to taste. Garnish with paprika and Greek olives.

The flavor of this hummus is a great change up from the regular chickpea blend. It is nicely balanced, while the texture is creamy and perfect to use as a dip. I prefer to pair mine with baby carrots and pita bread. I also opted to omit the Greek olives – no offense to the olives, but I’ve never cared for the taste.

    Black Bean Hummus

Another wonderful thing about making your own hummus is YOU get to control the flavor. Like some extra spice? Add more cayenne pepper. More lemon juice? No problem! Serving kids as well? Split the batch up and leave them with a tamer flavoring while treating yourself to a specialty snack.

We’d love to know what you added to the mix to customize this delicious dish! Post your comments or send us a photo of your creation. You never know, you may be featured on the blog!

    Have a great weekend!

  • Guest Blog | Carin McCoy | Redefining #Likeagirl

A while ago, someone said something to me that left me feeling confused and I will admit, slightly irritated. They confidently boasted to me that, ‘Oh you don’t need to worry about spreading the ‘Like a girl’ & ‘This girl can’ campaigns message in your household with all those boys!

    Like A Girl

WTF?! Hold up. Seriously?! The powerful message of redefining the phrase ‘Like a girl’ to mean someone who is strong, powerful, athletic and positive instead of the old ‘You run like a girl!’ insult that used to be thrown around is AS important to be entrenched in my sons as it is for us to teach and model to our daughters.

My young, impressionable, beautiful boys will see me workout. They will see the real effort involved in my training, and the dedication and strength involved. They will see what real effort looks like – curves, sweat, grunts and all! Boxing, running, lifting, trails, swimming, cycling..adventures! They will see me attempt things and fail. They will see me train for events and succeed. Most importantly, I hope they are surrounded by images that help redefine the connotation of ‘Like a girl.’

So this mum will proudly wear her #Likeagirl tee while working out around my young, impressionable sons and hopefully the phrase “Like a girl” will never roll out of their mouths as an insult, but one spoken of pride and admiration. I will teach them to believe in yourself, that being strong & fit is also a female identity and the knowledge that we are all strong, equal and we ALL have an inner athlete in us.

I choose to be part of the change.

F*ck That – A Guided Meditation” by Jason Headley | Warning – Definitely NSFW and NC-17, but hilariously funny. I’m not one for meditating, per se, but this is amazing – and oddly relaxing.

Real Housewives Franchise | I have no shame. I admit my guilty pleasure in the form of anything Real Housewives. Currently, I am pulling double duty with Orange County AND New York. However, this just mean two glorious, uninterrupted hours of television since no one in the house can stand to watch it with me (#bonus).

Better Than Before: Mastering the Habits of Our Everyday Lives” by Gretchen Rubin | This book is on its way to me, courtesy of the magical Amazon Prime. I loved The Happiness Project, so I’m excited to bust this out as a beach read!

Water | I know, right? How boring! But considering that 60% of your body is water, it is kind of important to incorporate into your day. A good rule of thumb is half your body weight in ounces. I always find that I drink more when I drink from a straw, but that’s just me. Don’t forget that fruits and veggies count towards that water intake (watermelon, anyone?).

ThinkThin Bars | One word: AWESOME. It is not very often that you can find a healthy snack that you can feel good about eating AND can satisfy a sweet tooth. I was skeptical at first, but now I do not know what I would do without the Chunky Chocolate Peanut deliciousness in my life. Actually, yes I do. I’d go for the Snickers in the checkout line.
