• I don't want to look like the girls on the fitness pages… and 8 healthy breakfast ideas!

    Someone asked me yesterday why I worked out everyday, and how I can get motivated to workout everyday…. I had a simple answer for them. I go to the gym everyday to see my friends. Honestly, it’s the only way that I get up and get to the gym. I used to go to Sport and Health, be another one of the hundreds of people that go there to just get a workout in, don’t push themselves (unless they are a big muscle head and just sit there trying to pump 200 pounds more than they can… But now because I go to Raise the Bar/Bull Run Crossfit – I am there, and I’m there with my friends… we get there, we chat, we talk about our day, then we work out, we push each other, we work hard and it’s because our friends are there with us… I don’t know but I kind of love it haha – I def wouldn’t be motivated to go to the gym everyday if I wasn’t with my friends. It makes it easy to get up at 4am to do a workout, or even just go after a long day of work at 6:45pm. No matter what I’m doing, I always have time for the gym because I have time to see my friends! 🙂 I don’t know, it just helps, I really like it hahaha… I think that makes its easier to stick with the gym… if the time comes where my friends aren’t at the gym anymore haha then who knows if I will ever go back to the gym! HAHAHA (just kidding, I’m not going to give up that easily I don’t think hahaha)

    533022_616815071667782_216312719_nSo, I have a lot of these workout type facebook pages on my feed – ones like Fitness Girls, BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH – and you know what, them posting pics of super fit, super thin chicks basically wearing nothing, that doesn’t make me want to workout – it makes me want to eat cheeseburgers since I know that I will NEVER look like that… how is that crap supposed to make us feel better about ourselves and our weight loss journey? Is it like, hey, you COULD look like this – but in reality, you actually could NEVER EVER LOOK LIKE THIS…. Unless you stop eating, do a SHIT ton of drugs, and then get a ton of plastic surgery, maybe a couple lypo’s hahaha then you could be that skinny… the fact of the matter is, everyBODY is different…. so personally for these fitness people to be posting pics like this and trying to inspire us, I think it’s kind of bullshit… maybe put a pic of a girl who has some more meat, and has gym clothes on instead of a bandeau and undies, and then inspire me…. how about that? hahaha… I just can’t take it anymore hahaha!

    I hope to lose another 5 pounds by the end of march, let’s see if I can get that goal accomplished. Starting to cut things out of my diet and really just be good about what I’m eating… I found these yummy breakfast ideas on Prevention this morning! 🙂 Check them out!!!!   • Lack of Enthusiasm. Period.

    photo 1 (9)Today I would like to talk about what I like to call, lack of enthusiasm . Yep, I said it, l-a-c-k o-f e-n-t-h-u-s-i-a-s-m. I have no idea why, or how, or whatever.. but man where is my drive lately? I was so on fire when I started and I lost the 33lbs, and yeah, going to the gym isn’t a problem, but where have I gone wrong now? Why do I sit here and think to myself, hey, I’m good where I’m at, I can fit into XL now, I don’t need to do anything else…. WHY??? WHY WHY WHY? Where did my drive go? Where did the passion for the weight loss go? Where has it gone… maybe it just today? I know I don’t want to give up, I know I don’t want to stop, I told Juan last night, I need to keep going, but for some reason, with all my work on my plate, I’m just like hey, I will workout, eat kind of healthy, but I’m not going to try anymore. I’m not going to plan out all my meals, all my times when I’m going to eat, why do that?

    I was snowboarding this weekend and I was the best I have ever been… and I chalk that up to my workout/diet regiment and how I’ve been doing…. and I felt amazing, so why would I want to stop?  But you know what, I haven’t seen a drop in weight, I haven’t seen a drop in pant size, so I’m discouraged, and I have that lack of enthusiasm. I don’t even have enthusiasm to write this post!!!!!!!! I have so much work to do and not enough time and then on top of that not enough time to keep up this workout and dieting thing… but I have to… hahah i love how I am trying to talk myself INTO getting my enthusiasm back…. I did a post on facebook this weekend and yesterday asking about who inspires you, and omg the responses…. I just about cried reading every single one. Because here I am, sitting here talking about how I can’t find the enthusiasm to even write this post and I’ve got people telling me how their relatives inspire them, their children, their friends, just all these amazing things… and that inspires me… SO WHY CAN’T I JUST KEEP ON MOVING!?!?!?! COME ON MAN!!!!!!!!

    I am such a picky eater I need someone to help me get my diet right…. anyone want to help me? I need to also start making some of the amazing shakes from Shakeology again! AHHHHHH I CAN DO THIS!!! I CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!

    cooking spray
    12 thin sliced (36 oz total) skinless boneless chicken breasts, 3 oz each
    salt and fresh cracked pepper
    1 large egg
    2 large egg whites
    1 tbsp water
    1/2 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
    1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
    5 oz (6 slices) thinly sliced lean deli ham, sliced in half
    6 slices (4.4 oz) Sargento reduced fat Swiss cheese, cut in half

    Preheat oven to 450°. Spray a large non-stick baking sheet with cooking spray.

    Wash and dry the chicken cutlets; lightly pound the chicken to make thinner and lightly season with salt and black pepper.

    Lay the chicken on a working surface and place a slice of ham on top of the chicken, then the cheese and roll, setting them aside seam side down.

    In a medium bowl, whisk eggs and egg whites along with water to make an egg wash.

    In another medium bowl, combine breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese.

    Dip the chicken into the egg wash, then into the breadcrumbs.

    Place chicken onto the baking sheet seem side down. Spray the top of the chicken with more cooking spray and bake about 25 minutes, or until until cooked.

    Makes 12.

  • Jessica Simpson Ranting again.. and I pushed myself to hit another goal, and am proud of myself :)

    A long time ago…. (sorry about this Brianna, I know how much you love JSimp)… I talked, rather, got quite agressive about the way I feel about Jessica Simpson’s getting paid to lose weight for weight watchers and not being able to do it – read the full post here. In that post I basically talked about how I think it’s a cop out that you can’t even lose weight when you are getting a couple millie to do so… Shit, weight watchers, give me a call, you want me to lose weight fo a few million, I will do whatever you want, short of sticking a needle in my butt!

    So then…. after this article, a few months later we find out, oh Jessica, she’s PREGNANT again! Hahahaha how convenient right? First, couldn’t lose the weight quick enough to fulfill her contract with weight watchers (unlike missss jhud) so hey, I’m going to get knocked up again. It’s so absolutely hilarious to me that that happened…. I was watching some commercials maybe it was during the superbowl, but you’ve got JHud and JSimp walking down the street and JSimp has this black outfit where the waist area sticks out (i don’t know what that fashion is called haha), and you can tell, she’s hiding something… (probably her baby bump yes)…. Where am I going with all this? CELEBRITIES THAT GET PAID TO LOSE WEIGHT AND CAN’T DO IT AND THEN THERE ARE COVERS WRITTEN ABOUT THEM SHOULD GET KICKED! Oh hey, pay me a million dollars, how about give a normal person that money… how about that?

    Anyways, this blog came up in my feed the other day, where she goes “For the better part of a year now, since Weight Watchers decided to pay her millions of dollars to become their spokesperson, Jessica Simpson has been telling us that she doesn’t have that body. That she doesn’t look like a model. That she has curves. And, most importantly, that she’s not only ok with her meat, she also has no desire to mold her meat to fit someone else’s standard.” SO THEN WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO BE A SPOKES PERSON FOR WEIGHT WATCHERS… JUST FREAKING BE HAPPY ABOUT YOUR BODY AND QUIT COMPLAINING WHEN PEOPLE SAY STUFF TO YOU ABOUT IT.. JUST BE YOU LADY, JUST BE YOU! The article was talking about how there were photos taken of here that was definitely misrepresented (aka photoshop killers) making her skinnier than she really is, and yeah of course, people want you to look your best, but don’t sell a clothing line for a size 0 when you are rocking size 16……. also in the photos you can tell her legs are like completely toned and perfect haha – it’s hilarious the link to the article is here.. the blogger continues to go on to say: “None of it is her own. Those legs are definitely not her own. Which means she’s telling us that her own legs are INFERIOR to the legs that you see in the ad. Because…they’re thicker? Thicker = Inferior? F-ck you. F-ck you to all the assholes who retouch that which is perfectly fine but an even bigger f-ck you to Jessica Simpson for suggesting that the kind of body that sells weight loss plans is not the kind of body that can sell clothing…” honestly, it’s true. Don’t make a statement saying you are ok with who you are and then get completely retouched and be ok with it! COME ON JESSICA, BE OK WITH THE JIGGLE! EMBRACE THE JIGGLE! I DO! (well for now… but I’m not taking photos pretending to be super skinny hahahaha).

    Well besides all this jessica simpson stuff, I have some exciting news… Yes, I might not have been losing a ton of weight recently, but you know what I have been gaining? MUSCLE??? MUSCLES!!!!!! WOOOHOOO.. Last night at crossfit, I deadlifted 300 pounds… now, you might not even think that this means anything… but when I lifted more weight than half of the guys in the gym that night, I was pretty excited… I might not be able to run a mile yet, or even do a pull up – but I’m growing, and I can deadlift….. My official weight was 255 in the 8 rounds, but then Brian just said, keep going, and I did 285 then I did 300… and BAM! I was just so excited I never thought in a MILLION YEARS i could ever be this strong.. I had my trainers there cheering me on, and I just felt great. For once I felt like I could do this, I can keep working hard, losing weight and getting strong… I was so excited!!! Check out the video HAHA of me doing it – I was kind of excited…. “SHIT BALLS” hahahaha… that’s apparently how I start to talk myself into lift that much weight… THE OTHER great thing, is I’m finally fitting into my hoodie from high school – I know it’s trivial, but I didn’t even notice the other day when I started wearing it again… hey, I fit into this from high school… I’m GETTING THERE…. Now if I can only get back to my birth weight HAHAHA 7lb’s 6ounces  HAHAHAHAH… Maybe I will be smaller by my wedding, I SURE AS HELL HOPE SO!!!!!

  • I'm going insane and letting people down!

But I’ve just been so busy since I quit my job, started working for myself and these shirts have been flying off the shelves! Don’t get me wrong, I’m so excited that the shirts have been successful but I’m just having the hardest time keeping up and feeling bad about the fact that I’m letting people down by not getting the shirts to people. You’d be amazed at how many emails I have to write about how I’m sorry it’s  taken almost the full 2 week, I’m just still so new that I’m trying to get a handle on things. In not complaining, it’s a good thing to have, but I hate letting people down. Like for instance…..

    I feel like I’m letting myself, my trainers and my gym friends down. Everyone is rooting for me to be successful and here I am being my own road block. Like i said before, now going to the gym is like my 2nd job, I do it everyday and I love it. It works. But my diet is like my pesky annoying coworker that is always popping its head over the partition of the cubical asking what’s for lunch, or just always there to remind you that he’s better then you and you aren’t going to lose weight haha. The other problem I’m having is that FRENCH FRIES ARE NOT A FOOD GROUP, NOR ARE THEY PROTEIN NORRRRRR ARE THEY A CLEAN FOOD THAT’S GOOD FOR YOU. WHY CAN’T I JUST UNDERSTAND THAT! Why is it that I can’t just say, eat well every single damn day just like you work out. Why do I freaking love food so much. Why am I always HUNGRY! Why am I never satisfied. Why why why why whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. And the more I keep crappy food in my diet the more I’m letting myself and people helping me down! Sure I’m getting stronger but I’m not losing weight because I’m not being 100% amazing with my diet.

    I know I keep talking about it, but this blog is about how I’m feeling right? AND I’M FEELING LIKE IM FALLING APART RIGHT INFRONT OF MY OWN EYES AND THIS STUPID COMPUTER! hahaha… I just love food so much, I HATE IT I HATE IT I HATE IT!!!!! It’s like, no matter how much I work out or how strong I get it’s not going to matter if I don’t get this stupid diet right. I went to dinner last night with my friend/client and she ordered a hamburger, but ordered a hamburger from the kids meal saying she couldn’t finish a full adult hamburger… and i was just like, WHAT I CAN?!?!?! UGH, why can I?!??! WHYYYYYYYYYY. Ok complaining over. HAHA… I’m going away again this weekend to snowboard, but after that, come Monday, I will have EVERY single meal planned out for me, I won’t deviate from it, and I’m going to make this work… right… classic, yesterday you said tomorrow… why wait till Monday Andrea??? Welllllll because I’m a loser and I don’t have time this week because I’m busy trying to win contracts and make money… UGH I CAN’T JUGGLE IT ALL… Why am I not rich hahahaha… Anyways…. ok ok ok SERIOUSLY I’m done.

    13 Secrets the Weight Loss Pros Don’t Tell You

     1. Do not arrive at a training session in the following states: a. on an empty stomach, b. coming off a cold/stomach bug, or c. on four hours’ sleep. It wastes your time and a personal trainer’s when your body isn’t fueled, hydrated and ready to work.

    2. If you find your workouts are getting a little stale, a trainer is a great way to put some pep in your push-ups. If you can’t afford one, get some friends together for a small group session. They cost less per person – and working out with friends is proven to improve your commitment and overall weight loss.

    3. To kick start your metabolism, opt for intervals. In a recent study, women who did 20 minutes of cycling sprints lost three times as much fat as those who cycled slowly and steadily for 40 minutes.

    4. When you hit the point where you think you can’t go on, imagine you have a trainer right next to you, cheering for you. Studies show that actively encouraging yourself improves outcomes.

    5. You can do OK at the drive thru. There are now some reasonable options if you look for them. Stay away from anything with the word “crispy,” steer clear of all mayo-heavy sauces (use mustard instead) and stick to no-fat dressing.

    6. Nibble on the move. If you are shopping and fading from hunger, avoid settling in at the food court and, instead, nibble your way through a shopping marathon. Pick up a snack, such as a hot pretzel, a small bag of roasted nuts from a kiosk or even a chicken taco and nibble on the move. Portable meals can still weigh you down, so check calorie counts on your mobile phone before you go.

    7. Douse your afternoon slump or hunger pangs with water. The energy drop that hits in afternoon is likely a combination of perfectly natural factors – the results of a light lunch, mild dehydration, a momentarily lack of iron or a crash off that coffee you had at the late-morning meeting. Before wandering to the cafeteria or fridge, start your recovery with a tall glass of water, which boosts your blood flow and, as a side benefit, makes you feel full.

    8. It’s hard to win against a cookie. While food is not addictive the way cocaine or alcohol is, there are some uncanny similarities. When subjects at Monell Chemical Senses Center in Philadelphia were shown the names of foods they liked, the parts of the brain that got excited were the same parts activated in drug addicts.

    9. Your bedroom, not the kitchen might be making you fat. Sleep deprivation upsets our hormone balance, triggering both a decrease in the hormone leptin (which helps you feel full) and an increase of the hormone ghrelin (which triggers hunger). As a result, we think we’re hungry even though we aren’t – and so we eat. Sleep may be the cheapest and easiest obesity treatment there is.

    10. Your weight really is genetic. When scientists first discovered a gene in certain chubby mice, they called it simply the fatso gene. Turns out, people with two copies of the gene were 40 percent more likely to have diabetes and 60 percent more likely to be obese than those without it. Those with only one copy of the gene weighed more too. But your “destiny” is no excuse.

    11. Ear infections can taint your taste buds. In one study of more than 6,000 people, researchers found that people over age 35 who had suffered several ear infections had almost double the chance of being obese. Why? These infections can damage a taste nerve running through the middle ear. When researchers found the at former ear-infection patients were a little more likely to love sweets and fatty foods, they theorized that the damaged nerve might cause them to have a higher threshold for sensing sweetness and fattiness.

    12. Fat might be your mom’s fault. A growing body of science suggests that sugary and fatty foods consumed even before you’re born can mess with your weight.

    13. At dinner, make yourself useful serving people and cleaning up. It gets you away from your plate, but still makes you a vital part of the meal.

    If you concentrate on the exercise you are doing with the same intensity as talking about the latest gossip about your life, you would find it easier.

    Trainers know you are eating more than you tell them.

    It takes more than writing a check or showing up for training sessions to make you fit and healthy. It’s what you do before and after you meet with your trainer, including choices with food, alcohol and workouts, and a commitment to a new lifestyle.

    Ask you trainer what she or he does to keep educated in the field. An educated trainer will get better results and provide variety to keep you engaged and motivated in your workouts.

    When you are late, it is a waste of your money, a waste of my time and disrespectful.

    Trainers see through your stall tactics. “I think I need to fill my water bottle.” “Let me get a dry towel real quick.” “Oh, I need to go to the bathroom again.” Nice try. But you’re paying for the session, so make every minute count.

    There is a difference between pain and burn, and you need to be honest with your trainer about which you’re feeling. If you push so hard that you injure yourself, you both lose.

    Whatever the text or email says, it can wait until you’re done with your workout. And no, you cannot text and put forth 100 percent effort at the same time.

    The trainer does not have time to get sick. Cancel your session if you’re carrying germs.

    Gear matters. Don’t expect to get maximum performance and results by working out in the ratty gym shoes and shorts you dug out of that old box of college dorm clothes. Invest in a good pair of sneakers. Your feet and joints will thank you, and so will your trainer.

    Remember that a 30-minute session at max effort is better – and cheaper – than 60 minutes of dawdling and half-effort.

    Stop whining and push through those last few reps.


  • Instead of giving up, push through…. Happy VALENTINE'S DAY!

    notgiveupLast night at CrossFit I thought I was done…. It’s funny because I feel like every time I come across a new workout at CrossFit (almost daily) I think, oh my god, this is harder than the next how am I ever going to get through this… and the minute I am in the thick of it I’m just like, I can’t do this, I’m going to give up… but instead, I don’t know what happens, I don’t know if I just don’t want to look like an asshole in front of everyone, I don’t know if it’s that I’ll look like a failure, or that I can actually do it, I’m just giving up.. .I mean look,  i am ALWAYS Last in crossfit… ALWAYS… and yeah, it’s supposed to be a competition with yourself and not with others, but let’s be real here… sometimes being the last person to complete a WOD for time, or has the least amount of reps, SUCKS hahahaha.. and how about being the LAST PERSON ALL THE TIME.. It’s like I’m the kid that isn’t going to get picked first for dodge ball… but i think what’s worse is not being able to do the whole workout… so last night, when I thought I was done for it, when I thought, there is no WAY in hell that I’m going to be able to do all these box jumps and burpees, Jenny looked at me, Evie looked at me and basically I knew what they were saying… DONT GIVE UP YOU MUTHAAAA FUCKKAAAA! and I didn’t…. I literally just kept going.. now it sucks because my goal for the WOD was to at least get 1 round of 10 box jumps and 5 burpees for each of the 15 rounds, but that didn’t work out — while Steph and Brian are blowing out 2-3 reps per round, I’m over here huffing wind unable to get all my burpees in… the one thing I did do and I was proud of, was this was the first time I did all my box jumps… those things are hard… and I was just NOT going to give up. It’s funny because i always think that I’m going to not make it through a workout, but I end up making it through… and for me, that’s an accomplishment SO in lieu of that, the release of HAVE THE DISCIPLINE TO NOT GIVE UP goes out today…. I’m not going to give up and neither should you….

    It’s really hard for me to think I can do it… it’s also really hard for me to not eat these valentine’s cupcakes that I made for Juan, but something’s gotta give right? I’m not going to lose weight but stuffing my beautiful face with cupcakes…. (DAMMIT WHY NOT?).

    So today.. is valentine’s day, and although we aren’t big on that here in our house, I just wanted to say thanks for being awesome and thanks for supporting me on this crazy ride we call life. Here are some yummy recipe’s that you can make today for that special someone in your life, that won’t add a bunch of extra pounds like chocolates and freaking CUPCAKES!

    Honey-Teriyaki Salmon

    Skinnytaste.com Servings: 4 • Size: 3 oz cooked salmon • Old Pts: 7 • Weight Watchers Points+: 7 pts Calories: 266 • Fat: 9.3 g • Protein: 22.5 g • Carb: 19 g • Fiber: 0.1 g • Sugar: 13 g
    Sodium: 502 mg


    3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce (or tamari for gluten free)
    3 tbsp mirin (Japanese sweet rice wine)
    3 tbsp sake
    2 tbsp honey
    1 lb fresh wild salmon fillet, cut in 4 pieces
    2 tsp cooking oil


    Combine the soy sauce, mirin, sake, and honey in a resealable bag. Add the salmon and mix to coat. Refrigerate for 1 hour or up to 8 hours.

    Remove salmon, reserving the marinade. Heat a frying pan or sauté pan over medium-high heat. When hot, swirl in the oil. Sear salmon, 2 minutes per side. Turnheat to low and pour in the reserved marinade. Cover and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, until cooked through.


    Red Velvet Cheesecake Protein Shake

    Dashing Dish:
    1/2 cup Fat free cottage cheese 1
    1 Scoop vanilla or chocolate protein powder 2
    1/2 tsp Butter extract
    1 tbs Cocoa powder 3
    3-5 drops Red food coloring
    2 tbs Fat free cream cheese OR 1-2 tbs Sugar free instant cheesecake pudding mix
    5-10 Ice cubes (Depending on how thick you like it, use less for a thinner consistency)
    1/2-1 cup Water (Alter this according to desired consistency)
    2-3 Stevia (or 1/4 tsp sweetener of choice)

    1 Cottage cheese may sound strange, but TRUST me… this is what makes the ‘MILKSHAKE’ consistency! Also, if you are sensitive to dairy, you can use tofu to get the same consistency!

    2 I use Designer Whey Protein powder. It has 100 calories per scoop. I buy the vanilla flavor because it’s a good base to add whatever flavors you want to make. It is also all natural.

    3 Or you could use 1-2 tbs sugar free instant chocolate pudding mix.

    4 You can get xanthan gum from most grocery stores in the gluten free section! Just a pinch of it makes your shake so thick and creamy!

    1 1/2 cups sugar
    3 tbsp canola oil
    4 oz unsweetened apple sauce
    1 egg
    2 egg whites
    1 cup HOT coffee
    3/4 cups unsweetened cocoa powder
    2 tsp vanilla extract
    1 cup fat free milk
    2 cups cake flour (not self rising)
    1 package instant chocolate pudding (not sugar free)
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp baking powder
    1 1/2 tsp baking soda
    1/4 cup plain fat free Greek yogurt
    spray oil


    Preheat oven to 325°F. Lightly spray and flour your cake pan.

    In a large bowl combine flour, dry chocolate pudding mix, salt, baking powder and baking soda and set aside. (dry ingredients)

    In a medium bowl, combine HOT coffee with the cocoa powder until it dissolves. Slowly add milk and vanilla extract. Set aside. (wet ingredients)

    In a stand mixer on low speed combine the sugar and oil; mix to combine well.

    Add the applesauce until mixed through. Then add eggs and egg whites until incorporated.

    Starting with the dry ingredients, slowly add a little of the dry, then a little of the wet ingredients, alternating between wet and dry until all the ingredients are mixed in.

    Last step is to add the Greek yogurt and just stir to combine.

    Pour into the cake pan and transfer to oven.

    Depending on the pan you use, (I used a 13 x 9-inch pan) bake for 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cupcakes will be closer to 25-30 minutes.

I feel like, how can I actually do something like that? And even though I won’t admit it, I am so happy and proud to be able to be doing things like that for people….  A) I don’t believe them, HAHAHA I’m just being me, how could I EVER inspire anyone… and then maybe B) It could inspire people even more to stick with it – because when people say these things to me, I really get inspired to keep working hard… Because not only is this stupid blog about how annoying weight loss is, but it’s also holding me accountable for the things I write… We all know I’m working hard on my diet, but I’m still going to the gym everyday, and trying my best to be healthy, if I were just writing this blog and sitting here on my ass all day, that would be a different story….. and honestly, to be 100% honest….   • Valentines Day….. Get it on…. anddddd I almost gave up, again.

    SORRY I HAVEN’T BEEN WRITING… It’s been a crazy week… I quit my job to work for myself again, so I was doing that, and then trying to get freelance under my belt because finding clients IS SO HARD…. and just trying to get through my day hahahaha —- ANYWAYS, I’M BACK!


    SO this weekend we had a photo shoot for the shirts… I know what people are going to think, hey – why are you investing money, or doing all this crap to sell more shirts if selling shirts isn’t what it’s all about? Well, my friend who is AMAZING, Christopher Robbins said he would shoot the shirts at Raise the Bar for me, so WHY THE HELL NOT TAKE UP HIS OFFER! So I did, and MAN the shirts look AMAZING…. I’ve got some pictures I will put up in the next few days, but check it out! I mean HOW COOL. I was crying… I was seriously crying because you know what, someone did such an amazing thing for me, and you just have to think, man, there are some seriously amazing people out there… people that you’re so lucky to have in your life and not because they offer to help, but because they believe in you and they WANT to help… Not only did Chris help but my friends modeled for me and it was just amazing… I literally was sitting there Sunday thinking, wow, is this really happening, what did I do to deserve having such great people in my life………

    Then I probably started crying because of this… hahaha… because I was in the photo shoot and DAMN did I ruin it… That night I was keeping track of my thoughts in evernote and I made this voice memo to talk about the next day… this is how I was feeling….

    “you know i look at these pictures and im just like ok, so when we took pictures the other day i look skinnier and i look happy and healthy and that was with an iphone, but then we get pictures that a professional takes, and you get all excited, you walk up there you have this new bode of confidence, you strut your stuff boooom booom boom, you’re not worried about it because you know you are going to look good, you’ve got confidence LETS GET EXCITED, and then, of COURSE you’re having fun, having confidence and the end of the photo shoot happens and you look at all the photos, and you are like…. WOW, really? Not only did I RUIN all the photos, but you know, I’m not looking at good as I thought I was and it’s like there’s this constant struggle and this like need to just want to lose weight and be smaller and you have this freaking battle that you just keep having to go on, and it’s like, it just doesn’t stop. You don’t find yourself skinny overnight, you don’t go to two weeks of working out and you are a completely different person, it’s so hard… it’s to the point where it’s like do you give up or do you keep going knowing that its just going to take so much more time, knowing that it might not happen.. like come October, the one thing I want, is to look good and feel great.. .because I want to be healthy and I don’t want to feel this way anymore.. i don’t want to feel like I have a 70lb keg on my belly, I don’t want to feel like I can’t wear tank tops or a bathing suit, I don’t want to feel like I’m left out because I’m not good enough looking… you know those are the hard things.. you look at these pictures and you are just like omg, I’ve been working out since August and I’m just like REALLY… This is it, and yeah, it’s my own fault, I could have done things differently.. but shit, it’s just so hard…. I still have so far to go and is this really going to get me up at 3:55am every morning? Yeah it motivates me but it also discourages me… it gets me thinking like WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING, WHY AM I DOING THIS, why is this so hard.”

    I still feel this way, it’s just so hard. AND I KNOW, no pity parties, and that’s not what I’m shooting for here, I’m just freaking venting hahaha – LOSING WEIGHT IS SUCH A BITCH! YOU SUCK!

    I’m not quitting, I’m in it for the long haul, but shit, things like this make me want to quit… I just have to win that mind game… WIN IT!!!

    5 Healthy & Fit Valentine’s Day Indulgences

    There’s a lot more to love than you think! Indulge in a superb V-Day weekend without busting your health and fitness goals.

    Valentine’s Day – love it or hate it, it’s difficult to escape. So is the irony that this holiday, one symbolized by the human heart, is often filled with treats and customs designed pack on the pounds, skyrocket your blood sugar, and clog up your arteries.

    To be sure, some Valentine’s Day traditions can bust your diet and set back your progress. Like sitting in a fondue restaurant feeding “Pookie” chunks of bread dripping with cheese or marshmallows coated in coconut coated in white chocolate, or popping enough candy hearts that the last one should be stamped “Toxic Shock.”

    However, the following 5 indulgences are not only sexy and fun, but healthy too.

    1/ Dark Chocolate

    The mathematician who figured out the square root of attracting a woman is 1/4 the summation of chocolate squared clearly knew what he was doing … and was rumored to be a close relative to St. Valentine himself.

    Moreover, the above mathematician’s friend, the gal who came up with the simple equation chocolate + wine = delicious-in-a-sexy-way is probably the reason for all the November births in the United States.

    When it comes to chocolate, darker is better. That is because really dark chocolate, 80-90% cocoa, has less sugar and fat and more protein than lighter shades of the sweet stuff. That’s not all! A 2008 study found that moderate consumption of dark chocolate may exert protective effects against the development of cardiovascular disease.

    The same study found that dark chocolate consumption might have positive effects onmetabolism, blood pressure, endothelial function and inflammation – all of which would help keep your ticker ticking.

    Remember, cocoa, not chocolate, has flavonols, natural antioxidant compounds. So, the more diluted the cocoa becomes with sugar, milk, caramel and the like, the less cocoa your chocolate contains. Milk may also interfere with antioxidant absorption; so, milk chocolate doesn’t have nearly the health benefits of dark chocolate.

    2/ Red Wine

    A glass of Cabernet contains:

    • 127 Calories
    • 0g Fat
    • 5.5g Carbs
    • 0 Protein

    Wine contains have alcohol, and a fair amount of calories, but it also carries a list of accolades. It’s considered heart-healthy because, like chocolate, it contains antioxidants. The antioxidant resveratrol, found in grapes, is purported to be an anti-aging elixir that may help reduce blood clots, badcholesterol, and formation of malignant tumors.

    The compound flavanoid helps prevent bacteria from sticking to your teeth (although it doesn’t seem to prevent red stains). The polyphenols also found in red wine may reduce inflammation associated with gum disease.

    Despite the seeming wonders of these foods, make sure you don’t drink an entire bottle, or eat four chocolate bars to yourself. Too much of a good thing, you know. Liver damage, high blood pressure, heart failure, and a big gut are just a few of the things you can look forward to if you drink and eat too much.

    3/ Sex

    Grant Stoddard, author of Great in Bed, says that sex, if performed responsibly, is just about the healthiest activity you can participate in. Sex actually mirrors exercise, in that the body produces endorphins much like those we get from exercise.

    Stoddard claims the key to optimizing calorie burn is taking your sweet time. That state of anticipation causes your heart to beat faster, and thus you’ll burn more calories. A 30-year-old 200-pound man can burn up to 300 calories in a steamy make-out session if his heart rate climbs to 120 bpm for 30 minutes.

    The calories you burn during actual intercourse depend on how (cough) vigorous and (um) enduring your experience is.

    4/ Rest

    A little cuddle-time on the couch is actually good for building muscles.

    It’s no secret that in order for your muscles to grow, they need to rest. When you lift hard, your muscles break down, and it takes nothing but rest & nutrition for them to recover and grow. More important, if you allow your muscles to recover, they’ll be even stronger the next time you go to the gym. Strong muscles are physically attractive to most people.

    So, take the holiday from the gym. Spend the extra time doing something fun with your valentine. Go to a movie, take a nap (who doesn’t want one one of those?), or just lounge in your pajamas (or lingerie).

    5/ Gifts

    A 2011 survey projected that Americans would spend a total of $3.4 billion on dinner, $3.5 billion on jewelry, $1.1 billion on greeting cards and $1.7 billion on flowers.

    While this might just seem like consumerism at its finest, there’s actually interesting evidence regarding the health benefits of gift-giving. Whether it be money, candy or blood, giving is proven to make people happier.

    As it turns out, there are more psychological benefits for the giver than the receiver. Giving, it seems, is good for you. Giving releases endorphins, which make people feel better physically and emotionally. Gift-giving has also been known to relieve stress and depression. By making someone else happy, you actually give your own health a boost!

    So bring on the flowers, chocolates, cards and kisses!



    I’ve come so far, why stop now?

    Today…. today is a new day… today is the day where i stop making freaking excuses… Ok. STOP. This is the thing… the past few weeks have sucked.. I’ve been exhausted, I’ve had this stupid head problem again, and I just haven’t felt right, and yeah I have ate ok during the week, but on the weekends its just falling off the wagon. I can’t do that anymore. I can’t keep making excuses for why I can eat this cupcake, or why I can eat after 9pm, or why one day a week with bacon and potatoes is ok as long as i don’t do it all week…. I can’t. It’s just so hard. It’s so hard to control my hunger. It’s so hard to control the cravings for foods I love… but then I look at my progress and how far I’ve come, and granted it might not be a ton, but I just don’t want to regress. I had a meeting yesterday morning with a new partner of mine, and she was saying, that she’s so scared of cheating on her clean eating because she doesn’t want to regress… and it got me thinking. All this work I’m doing, it’s not going to mean SHIT unless I am eating right.

    So today… today. NOT TOMORROW, not yesterday… TODAY. I am making a promise to myself… to get my SHIT together and stop making the excuses and get back on the wagon. I know I can do it, I’ve done it before. I mean for fuck’s sake, as I sit here writing this I’m like, no, just be good, eat as healthy as possible, but it’s your last week at work, and you will probably have lunches and drinking, so don’t do it today, do it next week. But NOPE, sorry mind, I’m doing it. I just know the longer I wait, the longer I’m doing myself a disservice and probably regressing my body from the progress that I’ve already made and the hills I’ve already conquered. I JUST WISH FOOD WASN’T SO DAMN GOOD! hahaha…

    beforeafter1Starting March 1, I’m doing cut phase with the gym, and that’s hardcore, there’s no excuses there… not one… and you can’t have dairy, sugars, carbs, you can’t have any of that crap, so might as well start working on that now, and start getting things out of my daily routine that I know I won’t be able to even touch on cut phase…… but you know what.. I want this, I want this so bad, I need to lose more weight, I want to look great for my wedding, and if I keep up the shit, I’m going to keep looking the same… I’m going to keep being insecure about my body, and then what? What was all this hard work for if I’m not getting myself healthy in all aspects? DUH ANDREA.

First I was sick, then work got the best of me, and now I’ve got my head thing again (the thing where last time I had a concussion, but I never figured out what was going on with that. Well it’s back). So what happens when I am having bad weeks? I eat like crap. Of course I’ve been working out, but I haven’t been the best on making sure I’ve been eating right. Why is this such a struggle with me why can’t I just say, hey, stop eating like shit.

    When my head feels the way It does it always chalk it up to it being food related like maybe I didn’t have enough carbs or gluten or something and that’s why my head hurts. So what do I do to get my head to feel better because I can’t work with my head feeling like its going to explode? EAT!!!! That’s right. Ill have some bread, or a muffin, something to take the edge off. I feel like I’m in a drug rehab program and I need to snort some coke or something haha (don’t worry mom, I don’t do coke).

    Today I put on my jeans that are always too big and for some reason they didn’t seem tooooo big today. Whoops. Shit. And I know I can gain way faster then I can drop. Soooooo yeah. Fudge.

    I wish it was as simple as to just eat whatever as long as you workout you can lose weight. Why do we have to also be so on top of everything. It’s so annoying. It’s, calories this, calories that, Protein this, sugars that, or points this, points that. Why isn’t this easier. I guess nothing good is ever easy. I have to keep telling myself that. I need to quit saying that tomorrow ill start better on my diet because I never do. I rock the shit out of my shirt, because yesterday you said tomorrow, but now I have to finally listen.
