    We Believe.
    We’re in the midst of an epidemic. Our young women are bombarded with images and messages that glorify perfection as thin and beautiful.  In some instances, they also have inadequate education on the merits of healthy, active, nutritious living.  As a result, our young women are falling short–failing to realize how extraordinary they are. Instead they focus on everything they are not.

    We Impact.  That’s where Movemeant steps in. We believe that every body is meant to move. That we can enable women to form positive, healthy habits in her teenage years that will further her physical and emotional well being in her adult years. We believe that any girl who wants the chance to move, so that she may discover her own sense-of-self, should be given one.

    Distance: 5K
    When:  You have the month of July to complete your race.  You can walk, run, cartwheel, crawl, walk on your hands, whatever you want……You can complete the distance in whatever time you need, as long as you complete in the month of July!  When you complete your race post a pic of you with your swag, tag @thicktothin, @movemeantfoundation and use tags #weareallathletes, #innerathlete, #T2Tvirtual, #T2Tmovemeantrace

  • Why WE believe #weareALLathletes

    T2T Collage

    So, if you’re new to T2T you know that our motto has been #weareallathletes for the longest time… but what does that actually mean??? Well, duh, what it means is that we, women, of all shapes, sizes, abilities, in fact, ARE athletes.

    There it is, exactly what that says, an athlete is a person who is proficient in sports and other forms of physical exercise. So why, why do we not see athletes of all sizes in society?

    The body positive movement is gaining momentum and we wanted to leave our mark. We wanted to show the world that we really truly are athletes. To me, what does an athlete even look like? Well, an athlete looks like YOU looks like ME looks like everyone… #ilooklikeanathlete is another huge hashtag that we are trying to show and push out there…

    To me we need to show the world that we are working hard for a reason… We are working hard to live a long life, to be role models for our kids, to show people who not to underestimate…. We do it for a number of reasons so the next few months we are going to be showing the world that we are ALL ATHLETES by writing our reasons for being an athlete on cardboard and hoping that these reasons inspire someone, anyone, to be strong and show the world that THEY look like an athlete!

    Water For Elephants by Sara Gruen | This book was made into a movie in 2011 but I just recently read it to get my mind off the stress of finals. This book has it all, mystery, drama, romance, and even a little erotica, but don’t worry it’s no 50 Shades, but it is most certainly a great read.

    Champagne Punch for Two | Who doesn’t love a fruity twist to classic champagne, I mean no pain, no champagne, am I right?

    The Thin Trend | I don’t know about you but lately I’ve been noticing the “thins” trend; thin Oreos, Wheat Thins, granola bar thins, and frankly I think it’s pretty smart. You feel like you’re full because you ate your usual number or crackers, cookies, etc. but they’re much less calories than their thicker versions!

    VSCO | This is the new Instagram, trust me. VSCO is really hitting the college scene right but it’s going to take off soon. In my opinion, it’s much less judgmental than Insta because people aren’t so worried about likes, since there are none! It’s more about showing awesome photography to an awesome community.
